- Data Mining
Data mining means digging for data. It involves the systematic use of computer-aided statistical methods to examine existing data sets. The aim is to identify cross-connections, patterns or trends.
- General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
The General Data Protection Regulation ensures uniform regulation in data protection law. It has applied to all companies and public institutions within the European Union since 2018. Its aim is to protect individuals when processing their personal data. At the same time, the GDPR ensures the free movement of this data.
- Direct marketing
Direct marketing includes all advertising measures that are intended to persuade potential customers to take a certain action by means of a direct approach - e.g. to respond, make a purchase or register. Direct marketing includes, for example, personalized newsletters or advertising mailings with reply cards.
- Diversification
Diversification is a corporate strategy used to expand business activities - e.g. by expanding the existing portfolio, renewing products and services or spreading certain risks. There are different types of diversification. One of these is horizontal diversification. An example of this is when a confectionery manufacturer expands its range of milk chocolate bars to include dark chocolate bars.
- Domain
A domain is a unique address on the web. It is used to call up a website linked to it after entering it in the address bar of the browser. Domains are also part of email addresses - the part to the right of the @ sign. A domain is made up of a specific name, a dot and an ending. The name can be freely chosen, with certain exceptions, but may contain a maximum of 63 characters. The ending can, for example, be a country code such as .de for Germany. There are now also freely selectable endings with a limited number of characters. Subdomains can be added to a domain.
- Duplicate content
Duplicatecontent means the presentation of identical content on different websites. To be more precise: if a complete text is used 1:1 on other websites, this is duplicate content. Search engines such as Google recognize and filter it and even rate affected websites negatively. This in turn has an impact on the ranking in search results. In the context of search engine optimization (SEO), it is therefore particularly important to use unique content. This is known as unique content.
